Created for the Glasgow 48 Hour Film Festival, this gripping wartime short from Production Hoose showcases the team’s dedication to authenticity and emotional storytelling. Filmed at a genuine 1940s prisoner of war camp in Scotland, a site that once held both high-level Nazi and Italian prisoners. The production utilised authentic 1940s costumes and props to bring the era vividly to life. German and Italian translators were present on set to ensure linguistic and cultural accuracy throughout the film.
What begins as a quiet moment of shared humanity between enemies evolves into a tense and deeply human story of survival, compassion, and the brutal realities of war — all brought together from concept to screen in just 48 hours. -
The Fartist

As a wife embraces her flatulence and turns it into a career, her husband must decide if their marriage can survive the winds of change.Production & Recognition:
The Fartist, starring Kirsty Strain who won “Best Actress Award”, was created for the 48 Hour Film Festival, where filmmakers have only two days to complete a short from script to screen. Production Hoose partnered with FuturistFilm to produce the film, with Production Hoose providing the director of photography and securing the location. The team’s bold storytelling and sharp comedic performances paid off, earning Runner-Up Best Film and advancing them to the next round of YesWeCannnes. -
Sealgair
Logline:
1872, Scottish Highlands. A wounded hunter trespasses onto the grounds of a secluded castle, where the owner offers him unexpected aid despite her companion's suspicion. SealGair was created for the 48 Hour Film Festival as a collaboration between Production Hoose and FuturistFilm, directed by Steve Johnson. Serving as the follow-up to their runner-up success The Fartist, this ambitious short was submitted to YesWeCannes. The entire film was pulled together in just two days, including access to a genuine 1500s Scottish castle gifted to Robert The Bruce as its striking period setting. A brooding Scottish period piece, Sealgair blends atmosphere, history, and gothic tension into a story that lingers long after the credits roll. -
Golden Duck

Golden Duck was brought to life by writer, actor, and executive producer Zubair Asghar. The ambitious project was completed in just two shoot days, a feat that took the team from flying high in a propeller plane to staging gritty scenes in full warehouses. Production Hoose oversaw the entire process from script to screen, including casting, pre-production meetings, and production logistics. The result is a sharp, fast-moving crime thriller that blends dark comedy with tense action, achieved through resourcefulness, collaboration, and cinematic ambition. -

Returning from Thailand after the pandemic, a grieving daughter introduces her new husband to her disapproving father, only for a surprise revelation of pregnancy to change everything.
Production & Recognition:
From The Ashes marked Production Hoose’s very first attempt at the 48 Hour Film Challenge. Created with just two crew members…one of whom also took on the role of lead actor, the film pushed the limits of creativity under pressure. Despite its stripped-back production, the short performed strongly at the 48 Hour Film Festival Awards, proving to be a pivotal learning experience that propelled Production Hoose forward to the successes that followed. -
HEATED
Logline:
When the tension in a restaurant kitchen boils over, the new kitchen porter is left to help clean up the physical and metaphorical mess left by the head chef.Production & Recognition:
Heated was created as part of the 48 Hour Film Festival, a challenge where filmmakers must write, shoot, and edit a film in just two days. Production Hoose brought together the entire crew and secured a commercial kitchen location, providing the perfect backdrop for the story’s intensity. Despite the constraints, the film captures the chaos and pressure of a working kitchen with sharp storytelling and raw performances. Its impact was recognised with a Best Actor nomination at the HB Film Fest 2024.
